Terms of use
These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal name of the business or owner], trading as Lanelytic ("Lanelytic", "we", "us"). They cover your use of lanelytic.com and the Lanelytic service. By using the service or creating an account, you accept these terms. If you use Lanelytic for a company, you accept them on its behalf.
Who we are
Lanelytic is operated by [Legal name of the business or owner], [Business address]. You can reach us at hello@lanelytic.com.
The service
Lanelytic is a software service that turns official US trade and tariff data, mainly from the US Census Bureau and the US International Trade Commission, into product-level figures, monthly briefs and alerts.
- Public pages: product market pages and sample briefs, free to read without an account.
- Free account: during the launch period, everything else is free for anyone with an account: watchlist alerts, monthly briefs and CSV export. An account needs only an email address.
We are building Lanelytic in stages and add features as they are ready.
Your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. Give us accurate details, including the email address we should send alerts and briefs to, and keep any login details safe. An account is for one person; email us about team use.
Paid plans
There are no paid plans yet, and we never ask for payment details during the launch period. When paid plans start, we'll publish their prices, payment terms and refund policy on this site and email account holders at least 30 days before any feature they use stops being free. You'll only pay if you choose a paid plan.
Estimates, not advice
Lanelytic's figures are estimates derived from public government data, which its publishers revise. Duty figures are averages calculated from that data, not the duty you will be charged on a shipment. Nothing in Lanelytic is customs, tariff classification, legal, tax or financial advice. Check important decisions with a licensed customs broker or another qualified adviser. You are responsible for the decisions you make using the service.
Acceptable use
You may use Lanelytic for your own business, and share briefs inside your company and with your advisers. You must not:
- use Lanelytic unlawfully, for fraud, or to send spam
- resell, republish or redistribute the service or its briefs as your own product
- scrape, bulk-download or automate access to the service beyond normal use of your account
- try to break into, probe, overload or disrupt the service, or upload malware
- infringe anyone's intellectual property
Our intellectual property
We own the Lanelytic service, its software and design, and the briefs and analysis it produces. The underlying government data is public. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service.
Availability
We work to keep Lanelytic accurate and available, but we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or always up to date. Government sources can delay, revise or withdraw data.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost business or the results of decisions made using our figures. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Lanelytic and close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or put the service or other users at risk through fraud or a security threat. If we stop offering Lanelytic, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service grows. We'll post the new version here with a new date, and email account holders about significant changes at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using Lanelytic after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Province] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of [Province] have jurisdiction, unless consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
